Description
When a moose is heading for shelter, it is likely seeking protection from the elements or predators. Moose are large, solitary, strong animals, but they still have natural instincts to find safe havens in certain situations. For example, during harsh weather conditions like heavy rain, snowstorms, or extreme heat, moose may seek shelter in dense forests or under thick vegetation. This helps them stay dry, cool, or warm, depending on the weather.
In addition, moose may also head for shelter if they sense threats from predators. Moose are known to be preyed upon by wolves and bears, so if they detect the presence of these predators, they will try to find refuge in areas that can provide shelter.
